Western Industrial Products (WIP) is a division of ISO 9001 certified Western Industrial Tooling (WIT). WIT was co-founded in 1969 by current CEO Ernst Buchmayer. WIT builds a variety of industrial tools with a focus on plastic, silicone and ceramic injection molds.

In 1985, WIT worked with Boeing to develop a new portable pneumatic wire stripper which could conform to their very stringent specific requirements. Safety and minimizing weight are major concerns in the aircraft industry. A poorly stripped wire can cause a poor connection which, in turn, can dramatically increase the risk of fire in addition to system failures.

Never refusing a challenge, WIT’s innovative group of highly skilled designers and toolmakers conducted a series of tests and refinements until the Strip-Pro was accepted in 1990. Today, the further improved WIP Strip-Pro is considered the highest quality wire stripper available. It is Boeing approved and certified.
